Pre-engineered fire suppression systems are factory-designed, tested, and listed for specific applications. They arrive as complete packages, detection, agent storage, piping, and nozzles, ready for installation in your specific configuration. IFS inspects, services, and installs pre-engineered systems for restaurants, industrial facilities, and marine applications throughout the Central Coast.
Applications
- Restaurant kitchen hoods - wet chemical systems that protect cooking equipment, exhaust hoods, and duct runs. Required by NFPA 96 and local fire codes for all commercial cooking operations.
- CO2 total flooding systems - pre-engineered packages for enclosed hazards like generator rooms, electrical vaults, and equipment enclosures
- Foam suppression systems - for flammable liquid storage, loading docks, and industrial processes involving combustible liquids
- Spray booth suppression - protecting automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing paint operations
- Storage locker systems - suppression for flammable material cabinets and storage rooms
- Marine fire protection - engine room, galley, and machinery space suppression for commercial vessels and marinas
Restaurant Hood Systems
Every commercial kitchen in California needs a listed hood suppression system. IFS installs Amerex and Kidde kitchen systems and performs the semi-annual inspections required by NFPA 17A and your local fire marshal.
Our service includes nozzle alignment verification, fusible link replacement, agent level checks, and functional discharge tests. We also coordinate with your hood cleaning company to ensure the system is properly restored after duct cleaning.
Why Pre-Engineered
Pre-engineered systems cost less than custom-engineered alternatives and install faster because the design is already listed and tested. The trade-off is that they must be used within their listing parameters. IFS evaluates your application to confirm a pre-engineered system is the right fit, and when it isn’t, we design a custom solution.
