Accessibility Statement

Integrated Fire & Safety wants this website to be usable by everyone, including people who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, enlarge text, or rely on reduced motion. We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium and used as the reference standard for web accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

What we have done

As of August 28, 2026, every page of this site was tested in two ways: an automated audit using axe-core against the WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 A and AA rule sets, run at both desktop and mobile screen sizes, and a set of manual checks that automated tools cannot perform. Issues found in that review were fixed before publication. In practice that means:

• Text and interactive elements were checked against the WCAG AA contrast minimums, and colors that fell short were darkened
• Images carry alternative text that describes what is in them, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers so they are not announced as clutter
• Every page has a single top-level heading and a heading structure that can be navigated in order
• The whole site can be operated by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator, a logical tab order, and no element that takes focus while invisible
• A "Skip to content" link is the first thing you reach on every page, so keyboard users can bypass the navigation
• Form fields have programmatic labels, and form status messages are announced to screen readers
• The scrolling logo and testimonial carousels have a visible pause control, and stop automatically for anyone whose system is set to reduce motion
• Navigation menus and page landmarks are marked up so screen readers can jump between regions

Known limitations

We would rather name the gaps than imply there are none.

• The Google Map on our Contact page is a third-party embed. We do not control its markup and cannot guarantee it meets AA. Our full address, phone number, email and business hours are all written out in text on the same page, so no information is available only inside the map.
• Automated testing has limits. A clean automated scan is evidence, not proof. Some criteria, such as whether alternative text is genuinely useful or whether an interaction makes sense with a screen reader, can only be judged by a person, and we have not yet commissioned an audit by users of assistive technology.
• Documents and content added over time, such as new blog posts or job listings, are reviewed as they are published, but may occasionally lag behind the standard. Tell us if you hit one.

Our commitment

Accessibility is not a one-time project and we are not claiming this site is finished. We re-test when we change the site, we treat accessibility defects as defects rather than enhancements, and we evaluate new pages and features before they go live.
