Privacy Policy

Integrated Fire & Safety operates this website. This policy explains what personal information we collect through it, why we collect it, who else handles it on our behalf, and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to satisfy the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), which requires operators of commercial websites that collect personally identifiable information from California residents to post a policy of exactly this kind.

The short version

The only personal information this website collects is what you type into our contact form. We use it to respond to you. We do not sell it, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not track you around the internet. This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics.

What we collect, and when

We collect personal information in one place only: the contact form on our Contact page and the shorter quote forms that appear on some service pages. When you submit one of those forms, we receive:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your phone number
• The service you are interested in, if you select one
• Your message, and anything you choose to put in it
• Which page you submitted the form from, so we know what you were reading when you got in touch

Every one of those fields is something you type or choose. We do not collect anything about you in the background, and we do not buy information about you from anyone else. Please do not send sensitive information (financial account numbers, government identifiers, health information) through the form; it is not the right channel for it.

Why we collect it

To reply to you. A form submission is a request for a quote, an inspection, service, or an answer to a question, and we use your contact details to respond, to prepare a quote or schedule work, and to follow up on that request. We also keep a record of the enquiry so that if you call us later we know what we already discussed.

We do not add you to a marketing list because you filled in the contact form.

Where it goes

When you submit the form, the information is saved to our own customer database and an email notification goes to our dispatch team so that a person sees it. It is accessible to IFS staff who handle quotes, scheduling and service.

We use a small number of service providers to run this website and that process. They handle your information only to provide their service to us, under contract, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:

• Vercel - hosts this website and runs the code that receives your form submission.
• Supabase - provides the database where the submission and the resulting customer record are stored.
• Resend - delivers the notification email to our dispatch team.
• Cloudflare - provides the Turnstile check that runs when the form is submitted, to keep automated spam out of our inbox.

Beyond those providers, we disclose personal information only where we are legally required to, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.

Cookies and tracking

This website does not set any cookies of its own, and does not use browser storage to identify or follow you. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, no session recording, no heat mapping, and no visitor tracking of any kind on this site. Our fonts are served from our own server rather than a font CDN, so loading a page does not tell anyone else that you visited.

Two things are worth naming precisely, because they are the only exceptions:

• Cloudflare Turnstile runs on the contact form to distinguish people from bots. It may set a strictly necessary cookie for that security purpose. It exists to protect the form from abuse and is not used to profile you or to advertise to you.
• The Google Map embedded on our Contact page is loaded from Google. When that page loads, your browser contacts Google to fetch the map, which means Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy, which we do not control. No other page on this site loads anything from a third party. If you would rather not load it, our address is written out in text directly above the map.

Because we use no analytics or advertising cookies, there is nothing here for a cookie consent banner to ask you about, and we have not added one.

Do Not Track

Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is still no agreed standard for how sites should respond to it. We do not need to respond to it, because we do not track visitors across websites or over time in the first place.

How long we keep it

We keep contact form submissions and the customer records created from them for as long as we have an active or prospective business relationship with you, and after that for as long as we may need them for our business records, to honor warranty and service history, or to meet our legal and insurance obligations. Enquiries that never turn into work are periodically cleared out. If you want yours removed sooner, ask us and we will remove it.

Your choices, and how to exercise them

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you from this website, to correct it if it is wrong, or to delete it. Email or call us using the details below and say what you would like done. We will confirm your request, may need to verify that the request is really coming from you, and will respond within a reasonable time.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We never have. That is true of everyone whose information we hold, including anyone under 16.

Children

This is a commercial fire protection website intended for business customers. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information through this site, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, form submissions are transmitted encrypted, and the database and email systems described above are access controlled. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise.

Links to other sites

This site links to places like our LinkedIn and Yelp pages, and to manufacturer and certification bodies. Once you follow a link off this site, this policy no longer applies and the other site's does.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or who processes it, we will update this page and move the effective date at the top. Material changes will be described here rather than made silently.
